Navigating the Irony of Fear

Fear is a tricky emotion. Sometimes helpful. Sometimes its the very thing that causes the pain we were afraid of. How should we interpret it in ourselves. In this episode we have stories from fiction, from real life history, and from everyday life to show that its worth getting to know yourself a lot better than you do, so you can tell the difference, and let it work for you, not against you.

Thanks for Listening. And if you love it. Please share it with someone else, and leave a rating on the show page so I can keep pumping out the good stuff.

Curiosity Challenge #3: Don’t Just Count Your Blessings

Come on why try to number them all? Get curious with this challenge and list them out and describe them as much as you can in writing in a notepad or journal. Just do 10 and share one with a friend, and watch how it changes your outlook and daily interactions, and you can mark this one as completed. Its a great use of your time. I promise.

Space To Accept the Challenge

A short follow up to the previous episode entitled The Forgotten Secret of: Creating Space.

I realized over the last week, since I shared the 10 areas to create space in your life, that I had not mentioned that one of the major benefits to creating space in your life in the first place is that it allows you to be more open to challenges and critiques and coaching and dare I say the right kind of accountability.

Life Span, Health Span, Fulfillment Span

We can only kind of control how long we live. We can try to impact how much of our time is spent in a state of good health.  But an even better goal is to maximize the amount of our lifetime spent in a state of true aliveness and fulfillment.   See comparison of the overlapping categories in the notes below, and enjoy the show.

Life Span:  The longest a human can live at a given point in time.  (Very little control over this)

Life Expectancy:  How long you personally can expect to live based on different factors. (Some control over this)

Health Span:  How long you can expect to be reasonably healthy within your lifespan.   (More control over this)

Fulfillment Span:  What percentage of your years on this planet you will spend feeling and being fulfilled.   (Lots of control over this)

A Fresh Quote On Finding Perspective

My late Father John Riggle or “Big Rig” had his own words of wisdom for reducing the solution to complex problems down to a simple phrase of clarity as a guiding principle.   He called these “Riggleisms”.  He hoped his children would have their own one day.

Here is one from yours truly.

“Stop Eliminating hope, And Start Illuminating Better Possibilities”

We often get stuck in negative perspectives or thought patterns that don’t help us live a fulfilled life.

Its easy to justify feeling this way based on our circumstances or the actions of others.

This quote and episode are a method and a mindset for moving out of that state of mind and moving forward to a better broader set of perspectives.
